Morning all, hope you all had a lovely Christmas and a very happy new year to each and everyone of you.
Over Christmas our lovely member Danny was told about how his niece was starting her midwifery journey by going out with her colleagues and helping people in Tanzania.
They felt as they were going it might be nice to each take a suitcase full of things that are much needed and in short supply so Danny thought we might be able to help.
With such front footed philanthropy at the heart of what they do, I’m certain that these wonderful midwives are going to have extraordinary careers and our NHS is very lucky to have them.
Loads of love

Hi all hope your well.I have a nomination that may not be possible but just to share what my Niece is doing whilst studying at uni.Hi everyone, As we head into our third year of being student midwives, in March myself and my midwife besties are travelling to Tanzania to undertake an elective midwifery placement for a month. In this time, we will gain invaluable experience in a maternity setting that is very different to what we are used to here in the UK.
As I’m sure you can imagine, resources are extremely limited in many areas in Tanzania, therefore each of us will be taking an extra suitcase with us filled with things that we can donate to different organisations whilst we are over there.
Also, during our time off over the weekends, we plan on visiting a few of the local schools, to donate to those too.
If anyone has anything lying around (especially post-Christmas) that they could donate to add to our collection, we would be so grateful as we want to donate as much as possible!!We are looking for items such as:- baby items (hats, nappies, blankets, clothes)- things for children at the schools (pens, pencils, notebooks, soft toys, books, clothes)- Feminine products (tampons, pads, shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant etc)Appreciate you get lots of nominations but thiughg it would be nice if we could help or donate for some of the basic things that we take for granted each day. Thanks all, keep doing an amazing job, great group to be part of and Merry Christmas to you all. XKind RegardsDanny
